Membership for the Regional Science Association and  2026 Annual Scientific Conference

This page contains useful information for registering for both the association and the annual conference, as an individual member, as a collective partner and as a component within the collective member.

1. Membership Fees

Membership of the association is a necessary condition for participating in the activities promoted by AISRe, which is a non-profit association.

You can join the association either at the same time as registration for the conference or at any other time.

Aisre social year runs from July 1st to June 30th.

Registrations made between January and December entitle members to membership from 1 July of the same calendar year.

The registration system on-line for individual members, will be open on January 31, 2026.

Note: Aisre defines a “young member” as someone who is under 35 years of age at the starting date of the conference.
The collective member nominates its own contact person to whom the services available to individual members are delivered.

Services delivered to individual member:

1. subscription to the journal SR-Scienze Regionali (Il Mulino) for the following calendar year
2. the volume of the AISRe E-book (Donzelli) published during the membership year; 
3. registration with the RSAI, Regional Science Association International and online access to the journal Papers in Regional Science and Regional Science Policy & Practice for the calendar year following registration;
4. registration with a reduced fee to the Annual Conferences of the International Associations European Regional Science Association (ERSA) (www.ersa.org) and Regional Science Association International (RSAI)  (www.rsai.org) for the calendar year following registration;
5. the opportunity for young members to attend the Summer/Winter Schools promoted by AISRe.

 

2. Conference Registration

Registration to the conference as an author or co-author of papers requires Aisre membership for the same social year.

Enrollment in the annual conference entitles you to participate in all sessions, to receive conference materials and to benefit from the services provided during the conference.

Notes: (1). Proof of young membership shall be provided by sending a copy of an identity document to segreteria.tecnica@aisre.it. (2). PhD students and Research Fellows must send a department certificate to confirm their status to segreteria.tecnica@aisre.it.

 

3. Collective members

The Conference registration fees are individual and apply to participants belonging to institutions that are registered with A.I.S.Re as collective members. For the first five members, participation in the Conference is free of charge. The fee of 1,300 euros is charged to the institution that registers as a collective member and communicates the names of the five free of charge participants and the additional participants that will pay the conference registration fee. The representative of the Collective Member will be responsible for communicating the names.

Registration is carried out individually by all the members of the collective member on the Aisre portal (www.aisre.it/login) but payment of the conference registration fee can be made either individually or through the administration of one’s own institution.

Administrations can request a debit note to the treasurer writing to tesoreria@aisre.it, by March 1st, 2026.

The contact persons of the collective member undertake to organise all enrollments through their administration at the same time.

4. Social Events of the Conference

Members and collective members may also register for the social dinner by paying the fee, which will partially cover the expenses that will be incurred by the conference organising committee.

5. Registration for the Schools
The participation fee for the Summer/Winter schools is €135 for young participants under the age of 35, doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers.
Coffee breaks and lunches are included in the participation fee.
Participants are required to be registered as individual members of AISRe. Individual registration costs €130, reduced to €65 for young participants under the age of 35, doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers.

To enrol in the school, you must register on the AISRe website (www.aisre.it) by creating your own user profile. Payment instructions can be found in your personal area. For further information, please contact Diana Sarmiento at the AISRe secretariat (segreteria.tecnica@aisre.it).

6. Payment of Fees

Conference and Association registration are subject to the filling out of the registration forms available on the association’s website (aisre.it/en/home).

The registration fees must be paid through a single transaction using:

1. bank transfer with expenses charged to the ordering person
2. credit card using the Unicredit Pago online service available on the Aisre website.

Payment purpose must include the description as indicated in the table as well as the surname and first name of the participant. For example: Surname First Name Aisre2026 A fee to indicate registration of an individual member at the association and conference.
