Description
Istat is a public research body for the production of official statistical information as well as guidance and coordination of the National Statistical System (Sistan). Istat’s main institutional purpose is to serve the community through the production, development and dissemination of statistical information, analysis and forecasts of high quality, carried out in full autonomy and on the basis of rigorous ethical-professional principles and the most advanced scientific standards, in order to promote the statistical culture and develop an in-depth knowledge of the environmental, economic and social reality, to facilitate the decision-making processes of all the subjects of society, develop the Sistan and contribute to the strengthening of the European and international Statistical System.
Istat is active in research on methods and techniques for regional analyses. Within the scope of their respective mandates, Istat and Aisre have consolidated a fruitful relationship of scientific collaboration.
