AISRe Seminar – Niccolò Salvini presents his awarded research project

AISRe is pleased to announce a seminar by Nicolò Salvini, recipient of the 2026 Roberto Camagni Post-Doctoral Scholarship, on Friday, October 30, at 11:00 a.m.
The seminar will be held in hybrid format, online for AISRe members and in person at the GSSI in L’Aquila.
Nicolò will present his research project, “A Zero-Inflated Spatial Autoregressive (ZISAR) Framework for Networked Count Data”, focusing on statistical methods for analysing patient transfers and spatial interactions within healthcare networks.
The event will also highlight the Roberto Camagni Scholarship, which supports young researchers through international research opportunities.
Join the seminar HERE.
The project develops an innovative statistical framework combining zero-inflated count-data modeling with spatial autoregressive structures to analyze spillovers and patterns of patient transfers between hospitals and emergency departments. It offers a methodological contribution to the analysis of interconnected systems, with potential implications for understanding the spatial organization and functioning of healthcare networks.
The seminar will also be an opportunity to highlight the Roberto Camagni Post-Doctoral Scholarship, an AISRe initiative established in honor of Professor Roberto Camagni, one of the Association’s founders and a leading scholar in Regional Science. The scholarship supports promising early-career researchers by funding an international research visit at a host institution in the European Union or the United Kingdom, with an award of up to €15,000. By encouraging international mobility, scientific exchange, and engagement with the wider Regional Science community, the initiative contributes to developing the next generation of researchers in the field.
We warmly invite you to attend the seminar and join the discussion.
