To promote the diffusion of Regional Science among young scholars, AISRe (the Italian Section of the Regional Science Association International) has established an annual award for two PhD dissertations in memory of Giorgio Leonardi and one award for the most original and innovative paper presented by a young scholar to its annual scientific conference.

Among the awards that AISRe has given in the past, we would like to mention the ‘Stefano Pieracci’ Degree Award, an annual award for degree theses on the subject of regional planning, organised by AISRe on behalf of the Region of Tuscany from 1997 to 2014 to honour the memory of Stefano Pieracci.
